Clear Sealer

Clear_sealer_4ltr
White Knight Clear Sealer is a non yellowing solvent-based acrylic sealer designed to rejuvenate old, weathered, plain and in particular stamped and stencilled concrete surfaces around the home. White Knight Clear Sealer penetrates the concrete to seal and protect. Its unique formulation gives a tough surface layer, which resists extreme Australian weather conditions (sun, rain, cold) as well as dirt, grease and oil. It also helps prevent the growth of mould, mildew, etc. Its strong adhesive properties will help seal exposed aggregate and pebblecrete while strengthening concrete surfaces against eroding and dusting. White Knight Clear Sealer contains a unique additive, which improves slip resistance of the coating when the surface is wet.

Note: White Knight Clear Sealer is not recommended for use on areas around pools, quarry tiles, slate, clay pavers, cement pavers or timber.

Preparation

Preparation

The surface must be thoroughly cleaned, dry and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil, efflorescence (white salts), moss, mould and other contaminants. Remove all loose and flaking material. Repair and fill all cracks and damaged areas with an appropriate exterior cement filler. Allow new concrete to cure for 28 days before coating. Wet surfaces should be allowed 5 days of fine weather to ensure they are properly dry.
Here are some important hints to assist you in preparing the surface:
Oil and grease. Degreaser, high-pressure water cleaning; cat litter; warm water and detergent.
Mould, fungus, lichen, moss. High pressure water cleaning; household bleach.
Smooth trowelled concrete. Etch to ensure satisfactory adhesion of coating. See White Knight Concrete Etcher for details.
Removal of White Salts. Thoroughly wet down surface. Treat area affected with White Knight Concrete Etcher, followed by a thorough fresh water rinse and allow to dry. See White Knight Concrete Etcher for details
Allow to dry before painting. After rain, etching or washing, the concrete must be left for a minimum of 5 dry days before painting. White Knight Clear Sealer will not stick to even slightly damp surfaces.

Clean Up

Clean Up

Clean brushes and equipment with White Knight Rust Guard Solvent.

To remove oil or grease from White Knight Clear Sealer coated surfaces, use
a suitable concrete degreaser. Do NOT use thinners as this will remove the clear protective layer of White Knight Clear Sealer. Reapply White Knight Clear Sealer as required. For most other spillages, simply clean with detergent and wash with fresh water.

Do not pour unwanted paint down the drain. Keep unwanted paint in sealed containers for disposal via special chemical waste collections. Empty paint containers should be left open in a well-ventilated area to dry out. When dry, recycle steel containers via steel can recycling programs. Disposal of empty paint containers via domestic recycling programs may differ between local authorities. Check with your local council first.
